Past simple: regular and irregular verbs

• We use the past simple to talk about completed actions in the past. Regular verbs add -ed, but irregular verbs change their form completely.

• She got a job in New York.

• Remember
• Use 'did' or 'didn't' for all subjects in questions and negatives.
• Do not add -ed to the main verb when you use 'didn't'.
• Time expressions like yesterday, last week, or in 2015 often go with the past simple.

• David worked as a waiter in Boston last year.
• Sarah didn't earn much money at her first job.
• Did Michael save money when he lived in Austin?
