Resolving a Detention Delay in Chicago
Role-play a phone call between a remote dispatcher and a broker agent. The dispatcher's driver has been waiting at a Chicago cold storage warehouse for four hours and has not been assigned a door yet. Use the present perfect continuous and simple to negotiate detention pay.
• Explain how long the driver has been waiting at the dock facility.
• Reference the geofence data and ELD records as proof of waiting.
• Ask the broker what the warehouse's wait-time policy is.
• Politely demand that the detention clock be verified and documented.
Filing a Detention Dispute Email
Write an email (40-120 words) to a broker disputing a rejected detention charge for a delivery in Dallas. Use the present perfect simple and continuous to explain the situation clearly.
• Clearly state the exact check-in and check-out times recorded.
• Mention that you have attached the stamped BOL and ELD records as proof.
