Role-play a discussion between an attending physician and a clinical lead in a Seattle hospital. Discuss what happened, how the theater team handled the crisis, and what contingency plans worked or failed.
• Describe the initial signs of the anesthetic complication and how you recognized them.
• Explain why you decided to call for backup and abort the procedure.
• Discuss the effectiveness of the team's communication during the crisis.
Post-Operative Case Summary
Write a brief clinical summary (40-120 words) for the medical director at St. Mary's Hospital in London explaining why a scheduled elective surgery had to overrun and convert to open surgery. Detail the unexpected findings and the patient's current status in the high-dependency unit.
