Welcome to St Jude Hospital

Dear Allison,

We are very happy to welcome you to the team at St Jude Hospital in Manchester. My name is Jason, and I am the lead consultant in the emergency department. Your first day starts on Monday at eight o'clock in the morning. Please come directly to the staff room on the second floor.

When you arrive, Hannah from human resources has your new ID badge, your white coat, and your new stethoscope ready for you. You don't need to bring any special equipment today. We have a great team of nurses, residents, and medical students here, and everyone works very hard to help our patients.

Your shifts this week are from eight in the morning until four in the afternoon. You can ask any colleague if you have questions about the ward. Every resident has a mentor to help with daily tasks and clinical training.

Now, I have a small challenge for you on your first week. Can you learn the names of ten nurses by Friday? It's a fun tradition here, and it helps you feel at home very fast.
