My Worst Day at Work

My first job after university was at a busy hotel in Glasgow, and I remember every single minute of it. Last Tuesday was definitely the most stressful day of my entire career. While I was checking in a group of tourists from Manchester, our main computer system crashed completely.

Suddenly, the phones started ringing non-stop because people were trying to cancel their bookings and change their flights. My colleague Samantha was running around the lobby, shouting at the IT support team and trying to fix the problem without any success.

Meanwhile, a huge queue was growing near the reception desk. Customers were getting very angry about the delay, and I was losing my patience while typing names into an old notebook. We had zero internet access and zero backup files.

Then a very tall man in a dark coat walked up to the desk. While I was panicking about the missing reservations, he smiled and showed me his qualifications in IT management. It was James McAvoy, the famous actor!

He sat down at my desk, fixed our network in five minutes, and even helped guests with their invoices. We were so lucky to have him there. He wrote a fantastic review online later that evening.
