My First IT Role
Role-play a conversation between a tech recruiter and a developer. The recruiter asks about the developer's first job in IT, and the developer shares their real or imaginary experience.
• What was your first job in the IT industry?
• Who was your mentor and how did they help you?
• What mistakes did you make on your first day?
• How much did you earn in that role?
An Email to a New Colleague
Write an email (60-100 words) to a new intern in your company. Welcome them to the team, share a short story about your own first day in IT (including a mistake you made and what you learned), and offer your help.
• Use the past simple to describe your first day experience.
• Include at least one relative clause with 'who' or 'where'.
• Keep the tone friendly, professional, and encouraging.
