Speak and write

Daily Routines and Deadlines

Role-play a conversation between two developers, Ryan and Brittany. One developer works from home with flexible hours, and the other commutes to the office every day. Discuss your daily schedules, how you manage your time to meet a tight deadline, and when you log off.

• Describe your morning routine and how you commute (or log in).
• Ask your partner about their lunch break and daily meetings.
• Discuss how you focus during the day to meet the upcoming deadline.
• Talk about overtime and when you usually log off.

My Daily Developer Routine

Write a short email (60-100 words) to your new team manager. Describe your typical daily routine, when you usually log in and log off, how you manage your flexible hours, and how often you work from home.

• Use adverbs of frequency (usually, often, sometimes, never) correctly.
• Include time expressions like 'in the morning', 'at 6 PM', or 'on weekdays'.
• Mention your daily stand-up and how you focus on your work.
