Hospital Tour Role-Play
Work with a partner. One student is a resident in Seattle, and the other is a new medical student from Boston. Show your partner around the hospital departments and explain the equipment.
• Greet your partner and start the hospital tour near reception.
• Explain what doctors do in the emergency department and intensive care.
• Show three pieces of equipment (monitor, wheelchair, stretcher) and say where they stay.
• Ask if your partner has any questions about the hospital.
Email to a New Colleague
Write a short email (40-120 words) from a doctor in Chicago to a new medical student. Welcome them to the hospital, explain where your department is, and mention two pieces of equipment you use.
• Use defining relative clauses (who, which, where) to describe people and places.
• Use present simple to talk about daily hospital routines.
• Check your spelling of medical words like pharmacy, monitor, and laboratory.
