Ward Handover and Patient Updates
Work with a colleague. One of you is a doctor and the other is a nurse at a hospital in Boston. Discuss current patients, their test results, and who is ready for discharge today.
• Ask about the condition of a patient in bed 3.
• Explain that a blood test result is coming this morning.
• Discuss visiting hours and family members waiting outside.
• Confirm if a stable patient can leave the ward today.
A Quick Message to a Colleague
Write a short message (40–80 words) to another doctor at Chicago Memorial Hospital. Tell them what you are doing on the ward right now, mention a patient in bed 4, and ask about test results.
• Use the present continuous for what you are doing right now.
• Include key words like bed, blood test, and result.
• Check your question word order before sending.
