Talking About Your First Design Job
Discuss your early days in design with a partner. Talk about your first job, an internship, a mistake you made, and what you learned.
• Where and when was your first job or internship in the USA or UK?
• Were you nervous on your first day at the agency or studio?
• What was a big mistake you made, and what lesson did you learn?
• How did your mentor help you improve your design skills?
Email to a Former Mentor
Write a short email (40-120 words) to your first mentor in Boston or London. Tell them about your current job, thank them for their help, and mention a lesson you remember.
• Use the past simple for things that happened during your internship.
• Use present simple or continuous for your current job in the studio.
• Check your spelling and use words like mentor, mistake, and improve.
