Your First Month at the Studio

Welcome to BlueWave Studio in Brighton! We are thrilled that you decided to join our creative family. This short guide will help you understand how we work, who your colleagues are, and what you can expect during your first exciting month here.

First of all, let us introduce the team. Abigail is our lead art director who oversees every visual direction and moodboard review. Scott handles our biggest retainer client accounts, and Kyle manages the daily operations. You will report directly to them during your first three months of probation.

Studio culture here is fast-paced and collaborative. We love working in sprints, which means every two weeks we review our progress, test new prototypes in Figma, and adjust our designs based on real user analytics. It is intense, but it keeps our work fresh, exciting, and deeply connected to modern web standards.

Let us talk about your daily rituals. We always start our mornings with a quick weekly sync to discuss active tasks and blockers. Afterward, you have open office hours where developers and copywriters can drop by your desk to ask questions about accessibility or design system components.

When you joined us, you probably wondered about billable hours and tracking your work. Do not panic! Your onboarding buddy will show you how our timesheet software works on your very first day, so your utilization rate stays accurate without causing you any stress.

Client projects in Brighton are wonderfully diverse. You might design a sleek e-commerce app in the morning and build a Webflow marketing page in the afternoon. This constant context switching is challenging, but it helps you grow faster than any traditional in-house product role ever could.

You should also know about crunch time. Sometimes deadlines overlap, and things get extremely busy before a major launch. When that happens, we order great food, turn on good music, and support each other until the project is completely finished and ready.

Finally, remember one very important truth: you will be tired, and that is absolutely normal. Building great digital products for demanding clients takes immense energy. Take deep breaths, ask questions, rely on your onboarding buddy, and enjoy your amazing new journey with us!
