How We Work at Monolith Pay

Welcome to the design team handbook at Monolith Pay in London. We believe that great financial products depend on clear communication and deep collaboration across departments.
Our team operates as a hybrid unit. We value office days because face-to-face brainstorming sparks better ideas, but we also respect deep focus time through async work.
Every designer belongs to a cross-functional squad. You work closely with product managers, data analysts, and software engineers to ship features that matter.
We know that complex banking apps require careful planning. That is why we run a discovery call with stakeholders before writing any code or building high-fi prototypes.
Our workflow relies on modern tooling. We use Figma for interface design and Jira for tracking tasks, but tools should always serve the people, not the other way around.
We hold a weekly sync every Monday morning to align on business goals. This is where we discuss priorities and make sure everyone knows what is coming next.
We also host open office hours every Wednesday afternoon. If you struggle with a tricky layout or need feedback on a user flow, just drop by and talk it through.
If you are stretched thin on your current project, you must say so during our retro, and someone must listen and help you rebalance your workload immediately.
