Investigating a Financial Mystery
Work with a partner. One of you is an acting manager in Chicago, and the other is an accountant in Boston. Discuss a missing payment of fifty thousand dollars using modals of deduction.
• Discuss where the missing money might be.
• Use 'must' to talk about clear evidence in the bank statement.
• Use 'can't' to rule out impossible errors.
• Decide if you need to freeze the account.
