Resolving a Server Outage
Role-play a conversation between an on-call engineer and an IT manager during a midnight server emergency.
• Explain what you were doing when the server went down.
• Describe the alerts and errors you saw in the logs.
• Discuss how you restored the database from the backup.
Post-Incident Report Email
Write a short email to your team explaining the server outage that happened last night. Explain what you were doing, what went wrong, and how you fixed it.
• Use the past continuous to describe what you were doing when the incident started.
• Use the past simple to list the exact actions you took to restore the system.
• Write between 40 and 120 words and use at least three vocabulary words from the lesson.
