Work with a partner. One of you is an engineer explaining a database failure in Chicago, and the other is an engineering manager asking questions about what happened.
• Describe what you were doing when the alert started.
• Explain how the automatic failover failed.
• Discuss how you brought the primary node back online.
Post-Mortem Summary
Write an email (60–100 words) to your team lead in Austin describing last night's database incident, what caused the deadlock, and how you resolved it.
• Use narrative tenses to connect past events.
