Investigating a Shortage
Role-play a call between a remote dispatcher in Miami and a broker agent in Chicago. Discuss a missing pallet found on the BOL in Boston, figure out who signed the paperwork, and explain what happened at the receiver.
• Ask what happened at the delivery in Boston.
• Confirm who signed the bill of lading and checked the seal.
• Discuss the missing pallets and report the shortage.
• Agree on sending photos as proof to the shipper.
Reporting a Shortage Email
Write an email (40-120 words) from a fleet coordinator to a shipper in Dallas. Report a shortage found on the bill of lading, mention the seal number, and ask who signed the paperwork at departure.
• State the load number and BOL details clearly.
• Ask direct subject questions about who signed and what happened.
• Attach photos of the seal and the damaged boxes as proof.
