Who Saw the Patient?
Role-play with a partner at Boston Medical Center. One person is the ward manager and the other is the resident on duty. Discuss a missing chart and an unsigned note during the morning handover.
• Ask who wrote the note in the patient chart.
• Explain what happened during the shift change.
• Confirm if this is the right patient.
• Sort out the confusion together.
A Handover Message
Write a short email (40-120 words) to the ward manager at St. Jude Hospital in Boston. Explain a mix-up with a missing chart during your shift and ask for help to sort it out.
• Use subject questions like 'Who saw the patient?' to find information.
• Use time sequencers like 'first', 'then', and 'while'.
• Check that you include patient notes and the shift change.
